Commitment

July 10, 2012 By Melissa Leave a Comment

Loving For Keeps marriage cartoon – how to save a relationshipCommitment is the decision to be responsible for and to yourself. When you’re committed to yourself, you can’t get away with blaming your partner for the lack of passion in marriage or for not providing you with the answer to your question, “How to save my relationship?”

It’s your responsibility to DO something to be the best lover and partner that you can be. Great lovers and partners are not born, they are made. They spend time exploring their creative imaginative powers to enhance their lovemaking. They don’t sit back passively hoping that someday their romantic life will be different. They don’t engage in wishful thinking; they act. How to save a relationship requires action.

What can YOU do to increase passion in marriage? Note that I didn’t say you and your partner. You can act unilaterally. It’s up to you to research ideas, plan surprises, and do something out of your ordinary routine. It takes time, but you’ll learn how to save your relationship if you commit to action.

Check out theses great books:
Buy 101 Nights of Grrreat Romance and 101 Nights of Grrreat Sex, both by Laura Corn. These two books are packed with ideas for sex and romance. All you need is something to spark your imagination and you’ll be on a roll. You don’t have to follow any of the scenarios step-by-step. Mix and match. Have fun being creative…

I’m always looking for new ways to have fun in my marriage – because if I don’t, it isn’t fair to rely on my husband to do all the work. I don’t care if he’s not doing research. I have to do mine. Funny that when I do mine, he does his and vice versa. Committing to fun generates more fun.

This marriage cartoon is very pointed. Cathy Thorne doesn’t let you off the hook.
